The Melungeons Humble  Beginings

"Music... it is about the ability of one human being to touch the soul of another"

The Melungeon's evolution as a band began in 2011 when  Tom Thompson started singing  to his mother, Kathryn Thompson, on Sundays in the nursing home.

Kathryn's granddaughter Rhonda James joined Tom on Sundays to sing ,  Kathryn's son -in- law Tom Summers played with them on mandolin and banjo.... then  Kathryn's grandson WIll Lambert  started coming  on Sundays to play violin/fiddle.

Eventually, Sam Lucas, Rhonda's finance joined the group playing guitar, banjo, and vocals  and a unique acoustic sound began Sundays in a nursing home in Metropolis, iIllinois.
